OpenVPN - IPcop to pfSense | Netgate Forum We currently use an IPcop firewall and would like to move to pfSense for many reasons. I have installed pfSense and am trying to set up OpenVPN as we use it extensively. Our client computers already have VPN access to our network and I'm trying to find a way to connect them to the new firewall without any changes, if possible. We are moving to MSI installers in OpenVPN 2.5, but OpenVPN 2.4.x will remain NSIS-only. Compared to OpenVPN 2.3 this is a major update with a large number of new features, improvements and fixes. Some of the major features are AEAD (GCM) cipher and Elliptic Curve DH key exchange support, improved IPv4/IPv6 dual stack support and more seamless OpenVPN for IPCop Since I was playing around with my IPCop firewall anyway to do the gkrellmd work, I decided to upgrade it to 1.4.10 and install the ZERINA OpenVPN addon. A lot of people are recommending OpenVPN, however setting up a firewall with OpenVPN from scratch isn't exactly a trivial task, even for a netadmin. If you use IPCop you'll be getting the firewall ready to go, with the option for support, and OpenVPN is a drop-in-and-execute mod. I've been using IPCop/OpenVPN for over a year now and loving it.
