Facebook has a blog post with more information about the default settings and how their secure browsing works. Turning on Facebook Secure Browsing on Mobile Devices: To check the secure browsing option in Facebook go to Account Settings —> Security –> and then ensure a tick is in the Secure Browsing box (See screenshot 1). Scroll down until you find your Facebook app. Once you’ve selected the Facebook app, choose the “Clear data” button (this clears out the local cache). The next time that you attempt to use your Facebook app, you will be asked to login to your account. It’s a bit of a pain in the ass but it does seem to fix the issue for a while.
